Free hot springs in Piedmont

Piedmont has many spa towns, from Acqui to Valdieri, but almost all of them are paid spas. The exception is a remote and fascinating place: the Bagni di Craveggia, two granite tubs at the end of the Onsernone valley, on Italian soil but easier to reach from Switzerland.

The water is lukewarm and you fill the tubs by opening a tap: a simple, genuine experience to combine with a lovely walk in the woods. On its page you'll find the two possible approaches, the opening season and what to bring.
