Free hot springs in Calabria

Calabria has a long spa history, with sulphur springs rising along both coasts and inland. The best known free pool is the "gurna" of the Terme di Caronte at Lamezia Terme: a public pool at around 39 °C, much loved by locals.

In the north of the region, at the foot of the Pollino mountains, the Grotta delle Ninfe at Cerchiara offers a low-cost thermal pool, while the situation at the Terme Luigiane is changing. For each place we say clearly what we have been able to verify and what we haven't.
